Measuring Curtains

The track or Pole:

Curtain tracks and poles should be positioned 12cm - 15cm above the top of the window and should extend out 15 - 30cm on either side, this will allow the curtains to be stacked back from the window, if required.

Measure the width:

Measure the entire track / pole width; do not including finials, etc. Add an additional 2.5cm (1 inch) for the overlap when the curtains are closed.

Measuring the length:

Do you want your curtains to hang to the sill, below the sill, or to the floor? Always measure from the top of your track / pole to the lowest point the curtains are to fall.

Measuring Eyelet Curtains

An extra 4cm is required for Eyelet Curtains. However, our fabric calculator will automatically take this into account when working out how much fabric is required for your curtains; so measure as you would for other curtain types.

Measuring for Blinds

Very straight forward - just measure the area to be covered ie finished length and width to be covered.
